Copyeditor
Marblehead, MA
Reporting to the Editorial Services Manager, the Copyeditor will be a key member of the Editorial Services team at HCPro. In this position, you will be responsible for copyediting and proofreading a variety of HCPro publications, including newsletters, magazines, seminar materials, videos, and books. You will also perform quality assurance checks, assist with composition, and handle reprint permissions. You will work as part of a team of copyeditors and serve as liaison with the Editorial and Production departments. This position offers a great opportunity to develop your publishing skills and get involved with a dynamic, growing publishing company.
Requirements:
Excellent editorial skills. Must have strong attention to detail, a critical eye for good writing, and the ability to edit for clarity, accuracy, and style.
Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with others. Must be comfortable working in a team environment.
Solid organizational and time management skills. Must be able to multi-task and turn projects around quickly.
A positive, energetic attitude.
Prior copyediting and proofreading experience preferred.
Prior Quark or InDesign experience preferred but not required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
