Mobile Posse, a dynamic start-up, was recently named one of the top Ten Emerging Mobile Players To Watch in 2008 (http://www.mobiletechnews.com/info/2008/02/06/131749.html) by the IDC. We are looking for a full time Sr. Cell Phone Developer to assist in bringing a new model in cell phone services to the market. Mobile Posse (http://www.mobileposse.com) is the leading provider of content and idle screen advertising in the US. The company recently closed on a $10 million round of venture capital from top-tier firms and is commercially launched on one carrier with several others pending. This position is located in McLean, VA. We will relocate or offer telecommuting for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Developer you have an opportunity to become one of the founding members of our technology team, and to create and deploy technology and services that will have broad impact across the mobile and advertising industry. Building on a base of carrier relationships, strong server infrastructure and existing BREW and Java clients, this key developer will further our momentum by designing and leading development of our next generation clients. Assist with expanding our capabilities across a broad array of phones. While integrating other capabilities into our client (media players, etc.). And extending our services to other phone environments, including Symbian.
Job Requirements:
Requires strong interpersonal, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all levels of management. A strong IT background is a must with key understanding of and experience in the following areas:
* 3+ years of mobile phone development in BREW
* Experience with client/server architectures and systems
* Working in Visual Studio 2003 & 2005 with BREW plug-in
* Debugging applications on BREW device handsets
* Building unit tests for developed modules
* Working with BREW handsets and BREW SDK's in BREW 2.x and 3.x.
* New feature prototyping
* Previous lead architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years experience, as a results oriented developer in a fast-paced, team based environment. Experience with the full life cycle of software development
Key experience in the following areas a strong plus:
* Windows CE or Windows Mobile
* Phone RTOS or similar embedded systems
* J2ME
Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from a four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
