This is a great permanent position with a growing company in San Diego, CA
Responsibilities:
* Database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning with SQL Server 2000/2005 in a production environment
* Performing deployments to production environments
* Assist other DBA's in monitoring in-coming ticket system for database support
* Proactively monitoring production databases and optimize stored procedures for better performance.
* Resolve locking and blocking issues as they arise
* Maintaining all database environments Development, Testing, QA, Staging, and Production.
* Identifying and resolving database performance issues and database capacity issues
* Assist with rotating on-call for 24 x 7 coverage
Required Skills:
* 3 - 5 years SQL Server production DBA experience in both SQL Server 2000 and 2005 environments
* Experience with backup & recovery, performance monitoring and tuning
* Experience with SQL Server replication and clustering
* Experience applying SQL Server service pack releases and version upgrades.
* Good familiaity with Windows 2000/2003 administration
* A self-starting attitude with good communication and documentation skills
* Excellent problem-solving abilities
