Our client is searching for an experienced Division Safety Manager to oversee multiple construction projects throughout Southern CA. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic. Successful candidates have demonstrated strength managing safety programs and mentoring multiple safety employees.
Candidates must be OSHA certified and posess a Bachelors in Occupational Safety.
This position will require approximately up to 75% travel throughout the division area.

Position Summary:

Implements and interprets the safety program for multiple business units as specified by Corporate policy and Federal/State regulations and guidelines. Supervises and mentors Field Safety Managers.

Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.
* Trains project management to become self-sufficient in areas of health and safety.
* Coordinates Safety and Training programs within the Division for supervisors and managers.
* Coordinates Safety Training needs for employees based on an evaluation of losses, legal requirements, and Corporate direction.
* Conducts and documents division safety audits to ensure compliance with company policies, standards and regulatory requirements. Tracks recommendations until completed.
* Assists Division Management achieving Division's goals and objectives.
* Reviews Compliance Audits and follows-up with division management to ensure Corrective Action Plans (CAPS) are completed.
* Ensures projects meet all Safety and Regulatory Policies prescribed by the company Policy and Control Manual, Corporate Safety Manual and Governmental Regulatory Agencies (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc).
* Responds to and facilitates the investigation of all-major accidents and injuries.
* Ensures projects have effective accident investigation and corrective action programs.
* Reviews accident data and communicates accident trends to division and Corporate management.
* Assists division management in obtaining accident reduction goals.
* Monitors drug and alcohol program to ensure compliance with company policies.
* Maintains current professional designations and certifications through continuing education and/or training.
* Ensures prompt reporting of new insurance claims.
* Coordinates and facilitates the integration of personnel, compliance files and training of new employees as a result of company acquisitions.
* Assists project management in maintaining safety incentive and awareness programs.
* Conducts monthly accident review with Project Managers.
* Periodically attends project's monthly safety meetings to evaluate and assist local management.
* Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required:
* Bachelors degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field preferred.
* Minimum five years related safety experience required.
* One year training experience required.
* Experience in the contruction industry.
* OSHA certification.
* Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations.
Preferred:
* Masters degree.
* CSP certification
