Strategic Distribution, Inc, a leading provider of supply chain management solutions with respect to maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) supplies for industrial and institutional customers is seeking a Help Desk Support Administrator for one of our key education customers.
Position Summary: Provide on-site and remote hardware and software support for all maintenance, repair, and operational issues in sites located throughout the United States and Mexico within the network environment.
Responsibilites include:
* Administrative Tasks: Provides weekly status reports to Network Manager, and CIO with duties achieved over specific timeframes.
* Inventory Management: Manage inventory; issue track and receive all computer hardware that arrives on-site or that is shipped to a specific site, and maintain 100% property accountability
* Systems: Create and maintain images and operating system configurations for all desktop and laptops located company-wide. Maintain the functionality of company computer hardware resources including servers, workstations, laptops, printers and multimedia equipment. Provide 24/7 support and technical troubleshooting; server and exchange issues, password resets, power outages, backup generator issues, site specific router and frame circuit issues with either MCI/Verizon or other outside vendor involvement as needed. Maintain network security policies, address server security issues and apply appropriate security patches and upgrades.
* Travel: Travel to site locations as necessary to provide on-site support and training.
* Other: A+, Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent certification.
Requirements
Qualifications:
* Ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in relevant curriculum; business, technology, communications or at least I year of related technical and administrative support of field operations.
* Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Customer relations skills is a must.
* Knowledge of PC Hardware, basic setup, cabling, and testing is required.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Suite is required (e.g. Windows, Office)
* Knowledge and experience of Basic MS Exchange and Active Directory Administration (Add, Change, Deletes)
* Must be self starter who can research and identify solutions for technology issues as they arise and carry out plan to full implementation
* Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule for resolving issues and / or scheduling off hour service and upgrades to avoid service disruptions
* Must be able to lift computer hardware; up to 50 pounds.
