To meet the needs of our members conveniently and efficiently, the Society maintains a service center office in Tokyo, Japan; a publications office in Los Alamitos, California; and its headquarters in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
Leads and manages the development of new products and business opportunities for the IEEE Computer Society in the area of meetings and conferences, including meetings focused on training and a proposed Annual Meeting. Identifies and evaluates opportunities, develops business cases, coordinates with staff groups and partners. Manages the business-side product management of new or revised meetings and conferences, with the support of volunteer boards and committees. Responsibilities include developing annual revenue and operating budgets, controlling those budgets, and coordinating with marketing on sales programs to achieve those budgets. Provide strategic analysis of markets, competitors, and usage trends to identify opportunities for new products or enhanced revenues from existing product lines. Develop promotional and related materials.
Requirements:
A BA/BS degree is required.
Masters or other advanced degree in business administration, education, or other related field highly desirable.
Must have a minimum of three years of business experience, preferably in meetings & conferences.
Skills in strategic analysis, market research, and business plan creation required.
Strong language skills and good organizational skills.
Must be able to research, analyze, summarize data and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be a technically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges.
Strong facility with off-the-shelf word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e-mail and database packages.
Must be willing to travel as needed.
