With about 40 percent of our members living and working outside the United States, the Computer Society fosters international communication, cooperation, and information exchange. To meet the needs of our members conveniently and efficiently, the Society maintains a service center office in Tokyo, Japan; a publications office in Los Alamitos, California; and its headquarters in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
Leads the Society's new product development process and oversees new product/service development to assure that market gaps are being adequately filled and that the Society's Strategic Plan is being appropriately implemented. Directs and/or conducts market research to assess and recommend growth opportunities and other strategic initiatives. Gathers, analyzes, interprets, reports on environmental information (including market threats) to inform the development of Society programs and projects. Assesses collaborative ventures, coordinate and write new initiative proposals, direct and participate in the development and maintenance of the Society's Strategic Plan, and provide support to the Planning Committee. Manages a staff of three product development professionals in the areas of digital publications, career services, and meetings & events.
Requirements:
BA/BS required.
Advanced degree in economics, research, or business development preferred.
Minimum of five years of business development, research and/or product management experience, or related experience in strategy development and implementation.
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communications skills.
Familiarity with current computer industry and professional association data and issues. Knowledge of current general field principles of research design, research methodologies and proven research execution skills.
Excellent planning, product management, project management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Demonstrated record of developing accountability measures related to professional association's program effectiveness.
Proven ability to work successfully through collaborative interdepartmental processes and within a multi-functional team environment.
