Position : Senior Accountant

Description :

Supports the Controller, technical resource for financial data, insures financial statements are prepared in compliance with GAAP, works on accounting projects of diverse scope.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Reviews financial data, identifies and prepares adjusting journal entries
* Tasks such as maintains ledgers, reviews initial entries, prepares journal entries, develops accruals
* Prepares and maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations
* Posts journal entries in accordance with GAAP
* Prepares monthly bank and account reconciliations
* Maintains fixed asset records
* Prepares reporting schedules and work papers required for audits
* Reviews invoice batches for appropriate approvals, account, subaccount and contract coding, general ledger period posting, and informational invoice entry accuracy
* Selects invoices for payment within company guidelines and prints checks
* Assists with handling calls and letters with vendors for escalated problems
* Reconciliates A/P sub-ledger balances to General Ledger and enforcing the A/P monthly closing
* Assists with processing, review and mailing of annual 1099 returns
* Monitors outstanding invoices and calls customers to resolve payment issues or discrepancies
* Generates and analyzes aging reports
* Performs reconciliation of complex contracts to the timing services rendered and billing guidelines specific in the contract
* Prepares customer invoices according to contractual terms, circulates internally for review
* Conducts cash receipt processing and reconciliation of customer accounts
* Administers monthly close in the AR module including reconciliation of sub-ledger to General ledger
* Assigns new project numbers and obtains relevant documentation for new client contracts
* Prepares and files state B&O tax returns, property taxes, and other compliance reporting
* Prepares and files monthly bank compliance reporting packages
* Calculates and monitors compliance with loan requirements
* Conducts cash flow analysis including intra-bank account transfer logs
* Coordinates the application and filing of corporate documents to ensure compliance by the state
* Complies with all federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations pertaining to finance and accounting, especially GAAP
* Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems
* Skilled in general ledge accounting, to include maintaining all sub ledgers and accounts
* Skilled in communications in multiple mediums
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial and business documents
* Ability to conduct financial analysis
* Ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential information
* Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced, high growth environment
* Ability to identify issues and resolve them in a timely manner

Credentials and Experience

* BA/BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, CPA preferred
