Job Description:
Job Title: Senior HR Advisor (London based)
Level: 5
Reports To: HR Manager
Context/Scope:
This role is in Employee Solutions, part of the HR Solutions (HRS) organisation which enables and supports the HR business partners in the delivery of their business objectives. It is the operational and consultative arm of the Diageo HR Organisation. HRS Functions include Global Resourcing, Talent Development, Reward Management, HRIS and Payroll. Employee Solutions uses HR systems and processes that enable data transactions, employee enquiries and administrative activities such as offer letters, contracts, and other correspondence as well as providing Employee Relations support to Line Management
Dimensions:
a) Financial - Policy and compliance decision making. Makes recommendations and decisions about any policy exceptions.
b) Market Complexity - Selected Global Functions, GB and Supply sites.Diverse client population in a complex matrix environment. Influences diverse senior line and HR management.
c) Leadership Responsibilities - Oversee the work of HR Advisors as appropriate.Facilitate personal and professional development of HR Advisors.
Purpose of Role:
Manages all Employee Life Cycle (ELC) processes including New Hires Transfers and Terminations. For temporary employees this may include resourcing and time and attendance activity.
Maintains and executes UK policies and ensures compliance, overseeing any policy exceptions. Provides Employee Relations support to Line Managers.
Manages Service Level Agreements to ensure quality service. The Senior Advisor role should be a Subject Matter Expert in at least one of the following core disciplines:
- Transaction Management (including Team Leadership)
- Employment Policy
- Employee Relations
- Reward and Benefits
- Data Management
Top 3-5 Accountabilities:
- The Senior HR Advisor role implements HR employment policies/processes to defined employee populations, with appropriate use of technology.
- Provide leadership in at least one of the above core disciplines and ensure integration with other HR leaders in that discipline.
- The role monitors employment related policies and processes and makes recommendations for their appropriate development
- The role manages, manager and employee enquiries and case tracking and reporting. It is important to develop and maintain excellent relationships and partnerships with business unit and functional teams.
- To champion and support the development of the HR portal and self service platform for employee and line manager transactions. Review portal effectiveness regularly. Maintain HRIS organisation and position structures for selected sites.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Degree or CIPD qualified with several years HR Management Experience
- Demonstrated success in HR systems and HR Policy/Practice
- Project Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate and proficient in HRIS
Barriers to Success in Role - Inability to travel to sites covered by the position.
