LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST, CALIFORNIA CERTIFIED
|
Job Description:
Arthritis Center of Riverside's (ACR) highly complex Physician Office Laboratory (POL), located in beautiful Southern California has an immediate opening for a California Certified Laboratory Technologist. The ideal candidate will be a generalist and proficient and/or fast learner regarding the instrumentation run at the ACR POL including: 1) Hematology (Sismex), 2) Chemistries (Roche's Integra400), 3) Endocrinology (Roche's Elecsys), 4) Immunology (DSX, fully automated Eliza methodology), 5) Infectious Disease (DSX, Eliza antibody testing)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related biological science degree and current California Clinical Lab Technologist license is required.
Experience in Medical Technology (Laboratory) with appropriate training
Full-time preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Daily laboratory operations including: pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical aspects.
* Strict adherence to quality assurance program by implementing and maintaining PT and QC programs. Related duties include but are not limited to: method verification for new tests, reference and reportable ranges for patient population, corrective actions, compare patient results, specimen and reagent labeling, and follow manufacturer instructions including calibration of instrumentation
* Troubleshooting for laboratory errors (pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical) including implementation of remedial actions of errors to prevent recurrence
* Maintain and update policy and procedure manuals for the laboratory's quality system
* Quality improvement with periodic examination of organizational activities, policies, procedures and performance to identify best practices and target areas in need of improvement
* Familiarity with CLIA, OSHA and HIPAA regulations
* Familiarity with Laboratory Information System (LIS)
* Ensure that the laboratory meets the requirements of CLIA and COLA at all times
* Prepare for inspections/surveys
* Purchase and inventory program for appropriate quality lab operations

On site, ACR has a state-of-the-art high complexity physician office laboratory (POL) and are Commission of Laboratory Assessment (COLA) Excellence Award recipients.
