Adventure Course Marketing and Promotion Associate
(Seasonal Community Coordinator Position)
The Urban Park Rangers of the City of New York/Parks & Recreation are seeking a strategic and fast-thinking Marketing Associate to promote programs on the new Alley Pond Park Adventure Course. The Marketing Associate will assist the Adventure Course Manager, the Director of the Urban Park Rangers, and the Administrator of Queens Parks in the conceptualization and execution of a marketing, promotion, and advertising campaign for the Adventure Course, a high and low ropes activity course that promotes team building and problem-solving skills. Duties will include developing print and direct mail marketing campaigns; planning and publicizing Adventure Course programs and events; designing and implementing website and telephone outreach to prospective clients, creating and updating presentation materials, and extensive market research and copywriting. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and have some experience marketing education or recreation programs and special events.
Qualification Requirements
1) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area described above; or
2) High School graduate and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area described above; or
3) Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Position runs from May - November.
