Job Description:
Garvey Schubert Barer, a mid-sized Seattle law firm, is seeking an experienced litigation/transactional legal assistant for a full time "floater" position.
The firm considers the floater legal assistant to be one of the most vital positions in the office and is seeking someone who excels in the position and enjoys the challenges of a floater position.
Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of the local court rules and be able to accurately prepare pleadings and motions; handle state and federal court filings; prepare and serve discovery and subpoenas; schedule hearings and depositions; proofread; compose and edit correspondence; process tape transcription; maintain attorney calendar; coordinate travel arrangements.
Ideal candidates should have least 3 years of solid litigation experience at a mid-sized to large law firm; proficiency in MS Office Suite; outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task and good organizational skills. Experience in both general litigation and transactional is a plus.
