When you serve as an optometrist and an Officer on the U.S. Army Reserve Health Care Team, you'll perform examinations, treat ocular diseases and prescribe corrective lenses. - Health Professionals Special Pay of $30,000, paid in three annual increments of $10,000

Requirements include:
- Doctor of optometry from an accredited program acceptable to the Surgeon General
- Unrestricted license to practice in the U.S.
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (may request a waiver)
