Job Responsibilities
SSCI seeks a strong candidate to join the Development and Test team. Do you want to work with revolutionary technologies on Air Force flight system evaluations? SSCI is looking for experienced Software Engineers to support development of advanced mission planning systems and other R&D programs across the company. This individual will also be expected to participate in defining and implementing software coding standards across the company.
Primary responsibilities will include software and systems engineering, implementation, testing and support for advanced technology products in intelligent systems, mission planning, and aerospace guidance, navigation and controls (GNC) systems. Successful applicants will contribute to / lead software engineering integration and testing of autonomous and unmanned systems.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have excellent Software development / engineering experience, exhibit drive, motivation, and initiative, and possess strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. For the Sr. Software Engineer position, experience working in teams of 2-4 Software Engineers is required. Specific qualifications include:
* 5-7 years experience using C, C++ in engineering applications, prefer experience in software engineering of advanced applications for aerospace systems (such as autonomous routing, mission planning, ground control stations, onboard or ground-based navigation systems)
* Demonstrated experience with systems and software engineering processes and principles (software planning, design, development tools, configuration management, test, and QA methods). Knowledge of CMMI/ISO/IEEE standards.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience with quality management programs (CMMI, ISO, etc.)
* Possess (or be able to obtain) SECRET / TOP SECRET clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for this position).
* Experience in software engineering and implementation of autonomous routing, mission planning, intelligent systems, flight controls or avionics, or unmanned vehicles highly desired.
Experience with GIS and/or terrain-based software applications highly desired
