Presently we seek a dynamic craftsman in the technology arena. As a Software Engineer-Presentation, for The Grow Network/McGraw-Hill, you would analyze, design, and develop applications and/or software solutions that contribute directly to the products and services of the company.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of our core systems, which include web and print subsystems using dynamic data and high-performance rendering engines.
Assist in the design of processes for integrating user experience design, software design and development, QA and deployment to production.
Assist Project Managers, Product Managers, and Client Managers in defining targeted solutions for specific clients.
Assist Project Managers in creating project schedules, plans, and time estimates, and leading projects.
Qualifications:
Required:
Experience with architecting and coding generalized presentation solutions using JSP
Strong HTML & CSS background
2 years JSP & JSP HTML integration background
Experience with client-side scripting languages and stylesheets for the web (XHTML, JavaScript, CSS)
Knowledge of cross-browser programming and presentation issues
Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment
Strong interdisciplinary communication, collaboration and relationship skills
A minimum of 2+ years of front-end application development experience
Skills (training, software, language, financial, etc.): XML, XSLT, XSL-FO, JSP (or equivalent), CSS, Java Script, HTML. Experience with PostScript and other print languages a plus.
Desired:
Experience with dynamic content and/or templated web architectures (i.e. STRUTS)
Experience with custom tag libraries
