Our Brand New Cardiovascular center is nearing completion!! In combination with our first-in-the nation Cycle 2 Accredidation for its Chest Pain Center, and Bariatric Center of Excellence, our commitment to patient care is obvious. We also offer state of the art technology while still maintaining a family-like feel throughout our hospital and community.
Provision of nursing care to the adult CV patients immediately post-operatively based upon the nursing process and for which educational background has provided nursing skills. May assume responsibilities of charge nurse when the need arises. Directly supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, Unit Secretaries, ICU Monitor Technicians and Critical Care Technicians.
Essential Functions:
Takes into consideration age related factors when:
Delivering direct patient care through the nursing process
Guiding and coordinating patient/family health teaching.
Monitors the activities of ancillary personnel.
Participates in committees as necessary.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current Texas RN licensure.
Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theories and practice.
Previous ICU experience / cardiovascular experience strongly preferred.
Completes skills checklist within 90 days of employment
Current CPR / ACLS certification.
Passing score of 80 on the Critical Care Competency Exam
