Production Artist - Advertising
|
Job Description:
Position Overview:
A Production Artist within the advertising department designs and produces various types of display, print and POP media in a fast-paced corporate environment. The focus is on designing newspaper ads, catalogs, flyers and point of purchase (POP) material while accurately conceptualizing ideas and producing results within a short period of time. Image manipulation in addition to other processes will be performed utilizing various programs on a MAC platform. This position will also require attention to various special projects that may be unrelated to the duties described above.
Organization Chart:
This position reports directly to the Art Director within the Marketing and Advertising Department. Interaction with the marketing director and a creative team will be frequent. On occasion, this position will be required to contact other departments should questions arise. This position offers an exciting career opportunity within the marketing and advertising department.
Basic Experience:
The candidate selected will have a creative background, and be motivated to produce superior layouts in a demanding high volume advertising department. Accepting direction, while thinking independently to solve challenges is essential to the creative process. Effectively communicating in both written and verbal form will be important in this position. Attention to detail while having a strong organizational background is crucial to prioritizing and meeting deadlines.Skills in proofing along with experience and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Xpress, and a good understanding of page layout, design and production will ensure success in this position. The ability to openly exchange ideas with an even temperament while accepting criticism from various personalities is a necessity. Experience with PDF, FTP and web design is a plus.
