PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To serve as an integral business partner providing a broad spectrum of human resource support and leadership for a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. Support management and employees in assigned business units to meet the patient care, research and teaching needs of CCHMC.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Management: Work with business unit leadership on long-term and short-term human resources planning. Support the strategic prioritization of the business unit with innovation, speed and targeted human resources solutions. Serve as an organizational advocate and partner with business leaders. Act together with management as a champion for positive organizational culture and quality of work life.
2. Employee Relations: Assist management with employee issues and employees with employee relations issues. For assigned cases, interpret policies, gather data, conduct investigations and work with management and senior HR leadership regarding resolution. Utilize a consultative approach with managers, supervisors and employees. Serve as an advocate for the organization, management and employees.
3. People Development: Collaborate, advise, educate and serve as a resource to managers and supervisors regarding their people. Recommend strategies for performance enhancement, including individual development plans, performance action/improvement plans, targeted training and employee corrective action.
4. Human Resources Delivery: Work with senior HR leadership and colleagues in employment, compensation, benefits and other functional areas to deliver seamless and high quality services. Serve as a leader to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of HR services. Develop and implement user-friendly products and services for clients.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Comply with policies and procedures governing the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations.
2. Maintain currency in the field through continuing education, literature and seminar.
3. Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions.
4. Assist in measuring, assessing, and improving services.
5. Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency.
6. Attend required Cincinnati Children's training sessions.
7. Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures.
8. Understand, adhere to and model Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department/unit.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION\WORK EXPERIENCE:
Required:
' BS/BA degree in Human Resources Management or a related field;
' Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible and complex professional experience within a Human Resources function; and
' Human Resources certification (PHR, SPHR) within 18 months of employment.
Preferred:
' Master's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field;
' Experience in more than one Human Resources discipline; and
' Experience working in a highly complex organization.
