Position Description
BCA Common Data Warehouse (CDW) Logical data modeler with hands-on experience implementing 3NF logical and physical models. Working under the direction of the Data Architect, work with business and IT computing system personnel to discover data related requirements and utilize them to create logical data models. Required: 5 years of conceptual and logical data modeling experience resulting in implemented systems. High proficiency using data modeling tools (Erwin preferred). Data analysis skills using SQL, especially as related to Data Profiling large and complex data sets to be able to discover and/or validate data quality and business rules. Modeling experience with Engineering and Manufacturing data, especially the integration of disparate data into common structures. Desired: Some DBA/Physical Data model implementation experience. Operational Data Store/Data Warehouse/Data Mart implementation experience. Functional Specification creation experience- especially for data conversion/ETL. Characteristics Required: - Must be a self-starter and capable of operating independently within specified architectural boundaries and approach. - Must dislike ambiguity but be able to deal with it. - Must be practical and adaptive. - Must be able to communicate effectively with non-IT people and very technical IT people - Must be able to ferret out data model requirements from a wide variety of sources- business documentation, system documentation, actual data, conversations with subject matter experts. - Must be able to organize and lead data modeling sessions with IT and non-IT people. - Must be a team player.

Education and/or Experience

Although you need to live locally, virtual office arrangements are possible after an appropriate level of experience and proficiency is attained. On-call support and overtime will be required. Travel between Renton and Everett and possibly other Puget Sound locations is expected.
