* Provide proactive environmental, health & safety leadership for GE Water regeneration sites in the Eastern US.
* Utilize leadership skills to engage all site employees to increase the level of EHS performance.
* Interact with all site employees to reduce accidents and injuries.
* Apply ergonomic principles and behavioral based safety to improve workstations and minimize injuries.
* Plan and implement EHS training.
* Understand and use GE online EHS Management tools. Support site managers in use of these tools.
* Serve as site security contact.
* Conduct accident/near-miss reporting, investigation and follow-up.
* Conduct EHS audits of service locations and provide tactical issue resolution.
* Work closely with operations to drive implementation of programs to ensure all federal, state, and local EHS regulatory and GE management system requirements are met.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Health & Safety Management, Environmental Engineering or applicable discipline.
* Minimum 3 years EHS experience with focus in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of state and federal EHS-related laws and regulations.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Willingness to travel frequently to multiple locations in the Eastern US, including Norfolk, VA; East Hartford, CT; and St. Peter's, MO.
Desired
* Green Belt certified (GE employees only).
* Familiarity with and/or previous experience with GE environmental, health and safety programs.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills.
* Strong computer skills
* Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside GE Water as needed.
* Demonstrated leadership experience. The successful candidate must be a proven leader, facilitator, and coach to bring focus, efficiency, and accelerate preventative program execution.
* Strong interpersonal skills (training/presentation, facilitation, team building, communication, influencing).
* Proven record of problem solving, results and accomplishments.
* Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks.
