Research Asst III
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To conduct laboratory duties and research for an assigned division(s)/department(s) of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. To be able to independently perform experiments according to established procedures, to make accurate observations, to record test results, and to analyze data.
Research Asst IV
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To plan and to independently execute specialized laboratory research for an assigned division(s)/department(s) of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. To make accurate observations, to record test results, to analyze data, and to develop new methods. To guide the efforts of other laboratory personnel by explaining laboratory techniques and assisting in their experiments.
Research Asst III
REQUIRED SKILLS: Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to relate to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Capable of understanding and following verbal and written instructions. Demonstrate high clerical accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and an independent work initiative. Computer literate and working knowledge of software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, and database). Analytical ability sufficient to compare data; mathematical ability sufficient to perform algebraic calculations and statistical analysis. Ability to operate laboratory equipment. Knowledge of Scientific Terminology and Sterile Technique required. Capable of meeting time demands necessary to execute experiments.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and a minimum of one year experience at a Research Assistant II level or equivalent required with exposure to laboratory procedures, instrumentation, tissue culture, and animal handling.
Research Asst IV

Ability to synthesize information and deal with new situations by applying past experiences. Knowledge of Scientific Terminology and Sterile Technique required. Capable of meeting time demands necessary to execute experiments.
EDUCATION\WORK EXPERIENCE: Masters degree in a related discipline preferred; or Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and minimum 2 years experience at the Research Assistant III level or equivalent required. Laboratory experience includes laboratory procedures, instrumentation, tissue culture, animal handling, and teaching.
