Experience Level:
-Minimum seven years designing, developing and sustaining enterprise databases, database applications and servers.
-Minimum five years in leadership role (project, functional area, or group leadership).
-Current in-depth experience in Microsoft technologies.
-MSDBA certification preferred.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Database Administrator and Architect will be responsible for the design, implementation, and sustainment of all business and IT system data structures, databases, and data servers.
-Assist internal business partners and other IT personnel to define functional and data requirements for all database applications.
-Lead and participate in project teams to implement IT data systems functions.
-Define, document, and communicate technical and architectural requirements and designs for IT data systems.
-Provide highly accurate time and resource estimates and status reports to management based on work scope and progress.
-Perform development, release, project management, configuration management, quality assurance functions as necessary for database systems projects and activities.
-Perform database and data server administration functions including data backup/transfer/transformation, disaster recovery, performance/capacity management, data/user/systems security, and security and procedural auditing.
-Establish and enforce good data management practices and database functions to ensure high database stability, performance, scalability, and data accuracy.
-Maintain current and accurate operating procedures and documentation for work performed above.
-Provide customer service and technical assistance to all users of IT systems developed and maintained as described above.
-Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.

Knowledge and Skills:
-BS/BA in an information technology or related discipline. Significant professional experience may be substituted.
-Broad knowledge of functions and data structures contained in ERP, SCM, PRM, CRM, HRIS, decision support, manufacturing, financial, IT monitoring, web activity logging, content management and similar systems.
-Expert knowledge of RDBMS theory and application.
-Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Enterprise Server administration, including tuning and optimization, and distributed/redundant enterprise architectures.
-Advanced SQL programming and scripting skills.
-Expert knowledge of one or more reporting and analysis product suites.
-Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining data marts and warehouses for reporting and analytics.
-Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability data systems using Storage Area Networks.
-Working knowledge of technical writing discipline.
-Working knowledge of project management techniques.
-MySQL and Oracle database and data server experience a plus.
-Specific experience with Onyx CRM, Great Plains financials, MS Commerce Server, Business Objects and Crystal Reports a plus.
