Job Title Housekeeping Supervisor
External Job Description The supervisor for Hospira Housekeeping is responsible for establishing and enforcing the policies and procedures for the department whether they be in the technical, personnel, or administrative areas. The position is directly responsible for the work of between 30 and 40 housekeeping employees and directly supervises the activities of two or three group leaders. The supervisor must plan work activities, provide training, tools and equipment for the housekeepers to safely, efficiently, and effectively perform their job functions. The supervisor also coordinates work activities with other trades groups, engineers, and production personnel to maximize the efforts of the Corporate Housekeeping Department.

Major Responsibilities:
Operating under the general guidance of the Manager of Corporate Facility Services, the duties of this position include but are not limited to: planning, organizing, staffing, training, directing and controlling the housekeeping activities for Lake and Kenosha Counties.
* Responsible for all Housekeeping Operations 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Receive periodic calls during off hours to provide emergency services for unplanned events.
* Coordinate outsourced cleaning services for those area's that are outsourced.
* Assure the quality of work performed in compliance areas adheres to customer requirements and corporate standards.
* Subject matter expert for housekeeping services when working with FDA and other regulatory agencies and audits and represents the Housekeeping Department in audit reviews.
* Management of capital planning and execution for Equipment needs of the Department.
* Budgetary responsibility for routine expense spending to conduct Hosuekeeping Services.
* Development and approval of all housekeeping service plans, and purchase orders for new and existing buildings.
* Overall communication with customers to determine needs, expectations, and delivery of quality services.
* Is responsible for the development and management of all goals, growth plans, performance reviews, and training for all employees within area of responsibility.
* Conduct interviewing and recruiting sessions to ensure full staffing of areas. On average, hire 4 Housekeepers per year.
* Develop and coordinate employee informational meetings and events.
* Responsible for the accurate and timely implementation of frequent operational procedure changes for all customers.
* Reviews and approves the weekly payroll and initiates personnel actions including promotions, transfers, discharges, corrective counseling, and provides employee development, training and motivation to improve efficiency.
* Frequently responsible for the development of written reports in response to customer requests, proposals, compliance, and other initiatives.
* Participates on Teams, such as Waste Minimization (Green Team), Shareholders Meetings, Floor Surface Standards, Corridor Storage Procedures, Site Pride, Hospira (Founders) Day Annual Events, and others as requested.
* Responsible for all safety initiatives and overall safety performance of the Department

Skills/Experience Education/Certification Education:
Associates degree required. Bachelors degree preferred.

This position requires at least five years of industrial housekeeping work experience and at least two years experience in a Supervisory role. Knowledge of all areas of housekeeping, including manufacturing cleaning and attestation experience is required. An absolute minimum of five years overall involvement in Housekeeping/Facility Management, is required.

The Supervisor, must also have strong technical expertise so as to give direction to, and gauge performance of, the widely diverse technical services provided by this organization.

This Supervisor must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient with MicroSoft Office for email and calendaring, as well as SAP for materials ordering and time management/payroll functions. Additional general computer knowledge is required for Spreadsheet analysis of data, and PowerPoint presentation development At times can be required to speak in front of large groups, conduct general business meetings and lead, motivate and coach personal. This individual must be proficient in business math, with the ability to manage their labor and supply budgets.
