Based at our offices in the South East and reporting to the Head of UK PR the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the online PR activities of one of the games industry’s leading videogames publishers and developers across a diverse portfolio of market leading titles. In addition to providing a supporting role for both specialist print and lifestyle campaigns they will become an evangelist for the company within the gaming press with a particular focus on online media, while leading pioneering and creative campaigns for its brands, games and internal development studios.
Success in this role is reliant upon excellent communication, organization, attention to detail and interpersonal skills,
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute UK online PR plans for product launch and retention campaigns
- Manage day to day relationships and communication with all UK online media to position the company and its development partners as producers of industry leading games - Proactively pursue coverage at news, preview and review stages on all titles - Ensure our incorporation into broader industry features in addition to the generation and execution of creative feature ideas giving the company’s games stand-out presence across the web - Collate internal coverage reports for online and specialist interest print media - Responsible for compiling local press releases, news packages, asset discs and other press materials - May also be required to organize and attend UK or overseas press events, media tours and/or product demonstrations.
Requirements:
- Experience working in Public Relations at a management level or relevant journalistic experience
- Experience of working in, or a substantial knowledge of, the games industry
- Experience of managing relationships with the press preferred
- Must be a keen gamer
- Fluent in English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to multitask and prioritise work effectively is essential - Must be prepared to travel and possess a valid passport and driving license
Package:
- The Company is offering a three month temporary contract with the possibility of an extension at the end of this.
- The position will be based at the company’s offices.
