The selected candidate will lead the WNW Subnetwork Team and rapidly gain expertise in overall WNW concepts, protocols, and the impact and interaction of physical layer design on the overall WNW development. Participate in all phases of development from systems engineering requirements definition, integration and analysis, to software development, integration, test and verification and validation, peer reviews and sell-off. These responsibilities may include selection and implementation of new WNW physical layer technologies, design of new network protocols, system/hardware/software trade studies, evaluating new security schemes, and generating and modifying specifications. Position also requires ability to support the preparation of Request for Proposal (RFPs) governing the development of a waveform for the WNW environment, managing awarded subcontracts in technical scope, schedule and cost, and interfacing with other team members and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives. Ability to work in a multi-contractor, Boeing led, team environment, coordinating activities within the WNW IPT and across program IPTs (Software, Hardware, Systems and Integration, Test and Evaluation) is required. Candidate must be motivated and adapt well to a fast-paced and quickly changing environment. Candidate will be an active participant in customer briefings, internal team and management meetings/briefings (status, technical performance, cost/schedule performance). Selected candidate must meet eligibility requirements for a Secret Security Clearance, active Secret clearance preferred. Travel will be required to interface with customers and teammates.
