HSMM is searching for anEngineer 3 to:
Prepare basic deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates related to HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
Review applicable codes and criteria and examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
Review contractor submittals.
Provide clarifications during construction
Adher to accepted industry and company standards.
Plan, schedule, conduct, coordinate and direct the development of mechanical project requirements.
Review and understand drawings prepared by other disciplines and communicate with those disciplines to ensure project documents are completely coordinated.
Coordinate/review the work of intern engineers, designers, and CADD operators.
Assist lead engineers in design tasks as required.
Capable of or willing to learn the basics of CADD design and/or drafting. Respond to client questions and comments.
Job Requirements:
4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering program.
Minimum of 8 years experience in related engineering field, 4 of which need to be in architectural and engineering firm designing buildings and producing contract documents.
Physically able to climb ladders and enter utility manholes, tunnels, and other mechanical equipment spaces.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (mechanical) in North Carolina and/or South Carolina, or the ability to obtain within 6 months via reciprocity.
Experience or education in process piping, large boiler work and air permit requirements.
AutoCAD or MicroStation drafting experience.
Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry including the Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that pertain to the industry.
