Description :
The EDN Desktop Operations team is responsible for supporting the laptops, desktops and printers on the EDN network. This position requires a detail oriented individual with excellent time management skills and someone who can efficiently work on multiple projects throughout the course of the day.
- Provide troubleshooting and problem resolution for 6000+ end users laptops, desktops and printers in a help desk environment.
- Create and/or modify end user accounts for 25+ applications in accordance with department guidelines.
- Works as a team member on small to intermediate size technical projects of low to average complexity.
- Performs problem resolution activities according to established procedures and makes supervised-decisions that impact assignments.
- Resolves assigned Trouble Tickets within the established timeframes while providing quality customer service. Proactively communicates status reports and issues to managers.
- Image new / upgrade existing equipment with the XP operating system.
- Install, upgrade software to meet departmental standards.
Qualifications:

- Minimum Associate's degree, two-year technical degree, relevant military experience, equivalent special electronics training, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Office and Internet Explorer.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure dynamic environment and adjust to priority changes is required.
- Effective professional written and oral communication skills are essential, especially proper telephone etiquette.
- Working knowledge of information systems concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to take appropriate action are required.
- Basic understanding of networking technologies (LAN, WAN, routers, switches, TCP/IP, FTP).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
