Senior Sales Executive
Reporting to:
Group Head - Agency Sales
Purpose of the Role:
To generate advertising revenue for AOL UK, contribute to the dynamic AOL culture and be an ambassador for AOL Agency Sales in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Developing and maintaining strong relationships across your agencies at both a junior and senior level to drive sales for AOL and keep AOL front of mind at all times. This should take the form of face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations and any other means to communicate the value and unique power of the AOL brand.
2. It is very important to be able to implement multi level sales strategies across a full range of Agencies e.g. Media, planning, account teams, PR, DM, creative. The aim being to form a fully rounded view of the clients business and develop multiple levels of contacts.
3. Proactively identify and develop new revenue streams/opportunities with other commercial and editorial departments within AOL.
4. Online is a fast moving industry so you must be able to keep up to date with all the latest movements of your clients, competitors as well as AOL so that you can take advantage of opportunities and keep your clients well informed at all times.
5. Maintain an accurate business forecast and healthy pipeline of opportunities for the AOL UK business.
6. To deliver against all the business targets set out by the AOL Management Team.
7. To work across and drive your relationships within AOL IM (Interactive Marketing) teams: Operations, Strategy, Planning, Account Services, Research and Creative Solutions to produce the very best responses and proactive presentations for the

Person Specifications:
A successful candidate will demonstrate: good business acumen, customer focus, personal impact and be a team player who is highly driven and self critical so constantly striving to produce the very best work.
Senior Sales Executive's will be working in partnership with an Account Manager as a team across their allocated agencies and therefore interpersonal skills and good team working are essential.
With the Account Manager ensuring that campaigns are delivered and optimised, the role of the Senior Sales Executive is to pro-actively approach the market, driving innovation, opportunities and ultimately revenue from allocated agencies.
You must enjoy speaking to and presenting research products, ideas and opportunities to media briefs as well as proactive/strategy concepts to all job levels and types with the Agencies, while also having strong negotiating ability to justify and book AOL's premium rates.
Online is a very high paced environment so you will need to be able to think on your feet and adapt to the marketplace, this means being a great communicator and listener. You will also have good administration skills and a great eye for detail.
As a Senior Executive you should also be able to help the Sales Executives when called upon to further develop their knowledge base and media arguments.
Experience:
Extensive media sales experience - the majority being in direct-outside sales meeting face-to-face with clients and advertising agencies. Premium placed on traditional media experience with large clients and their agencies.
Has built a robust network of contacts and relationships in the industry that can be leveraged to the mutual advantage of the contacts
Qualifications:
University degree (or equivalent) required or real world experience in the communications industry.
Skills/Knowledge:
· Familiarity and knowledge of the UK/London communications industry is essential.
· Knowledge of their clients and strategy is a bonus.
· An understanding of the media sales process including traditional media and/or online is required.
· Familiarity with the internet.
· Good computer knowledge of software programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
· Use of TGI, MMS and Mintel is a bonus
