Posting Job Description AOL Vertical Search Business Manager
The AOL Vertical Search Business Manager will be responsible for supporting the business functions across the AOL Vertical Search product suite (including: CityGuide, City's Best, Local Search, DMOZ, AOL Yellow Pages, Mobile, Quigo, AOL White Pages, and Government Guide.) Work with key stakeholders within the Search organization and thorough the company to develop and implement new strategic opportunities to drive growth. Manage and tactically execute against the financial plan.
Specific responsibilities include:
o Responsible for supporting the overall business planning activities for AOL Search Verticals
o Work with Finance to manage revenue and expenses against plan
o Work with Business Development and Legal in contract negotiations
o Work with AOL Platform-A on driving revenue opportunities within the AOL Search Vertical suite of products; opportunities include online display adverting, advertorials, strategic sponsorships and franchises
o Support the integration of Citysearch content and advertising into AOL Search Vertical properties
o Prepare and present reports for analyzing performance against growth, engagement, and monetization metrics; recommend and implement corrective action plans as necessary
o Provide creativity and strategic thinking around new growth opportunities
o Build positive working relationships across departments
Business Skills Required:
o Must have at least 5-7 years of product management experience or past experience with a top business consulting firm; Media Industry experience preferred
o Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Marketing; MBA strongly preferred
o Experience with business case development and analysis; ability to define and quantify value drivers
o Meeting facilitation including the ability to frame solution alternatives to foster decision making
o Must have strong communication and analytical skills; capable of developing complex business models and presenting them at the Executive levels
General Skills Required:
o 10% travel required (primarily New York)
o Must be organized and have the ability to multi-task
o Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as the ability to function in a group setting
o Experience in managing and working with various internal and external partners on matrixed projects
