Position Summary: Must have the necessary experience, aptitude and education to perform electrical and controls duties such as set-up, adjustment, calibrate, tune, troubleshoot, P>M> snspection and overhaul. Makes equipment improvements when necessary. Equipment includes electrical, electronic and processor based systems and components. Proficient in the use of CMCS system. Assists in the training of new employees and trainees. Performs all work in a safe manner demonstrating proper use of safety equipment at all times.
Assures customer satisfaction through identifying, as an individual and as a member of a work unit, the internal and external customers; jointly determines customer needs and means of measurement to deliver mutually agreed upon products/services. Continually investigates methods to improve customer satisfaction to achieve the ultimate goal of quality relationships. Must be capable of working in a team environment.
Reports directly to Maintenance Supervisor. On occasion may work under the direction of the Maintenance superintendent, Engineering, Technical Services, Maintenance Planner/Supervisor, outside vendor or as a member of a maintenance team. Minimum of direct supervision required on most assignments.
Contributes to a safe work place by performing all tasks in accordance with O.S.H.A., E.P.A., F.D.A., Lockout/Tagout/Tryout, safety rules, codes, practices and regulations. Knowledgeable and compliant with Federal, States, Local and Company environmental laws, rules and regulations.
The incumbent is responsible for correctly following the waste accumulation and handling rules established for satellite and 90 day areas as specified in Waste Generator and Hazardous Communication training. The incumbent is also responsible for understanding which waste streams they handle and the hazards associated with each waste stream and process in and near where they work. This knowledge must include an understanding of proper emergency response procedures relative to the hazards where the incumbent works.
Contributes to Customer Satisfaction. Provides feedback for all customer requests within one hour.
Works as a self motivated individual with minimal supervision while functioning as a productive team member.
Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces equipment and systems as necessary.
Performs set-up adjustment, timing, calibration and tuning of equipment and systems as required.
Performs preventive maintenance inspection and completes work order requirements as directed. Revises preventive maintenance inspection forms as necessary and records pertinent information as a result of a P.M. inspection or work order assignment.
Provicient in the use of CMCS.
Assists mechanics, HVAC mechanics, Engineering, Construction, Technical Services, Instrument Shop and production in the design, installation, commissioning and training related to new or modified installations.
Trains department personnel, maintenance trainees and production personnel.
Designs or modifies equipment and systems and informs Engineering of changes such that documentation can be updated.
Maintains communications with management, team and peers by written and verbal communications.
Must be knowledgeable of microprocessor based systems including computers, distributed control systems and program logic controllers. Demonstrates ability to troubgleshoot and repair systems in a timely manner.
Assures proper equipment/system performance following repairs or adjustments prior to returning equipment/systems to Production. Notifies production at the initiation of any work and at the completion of all work.
Must maintain a complete set of tools as specified by incumbent department's tool list. Tools must be availale for ue at all times and must be in a safe operating condition.
Working Conditions: The job may entail working in areas of varying degrees of noise. The job also may involve stooping or crawling in cramped quarters, wearing Scott air-pak, respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and lifting reasonable loads.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
Internal and external candidates are required to pass the Work Keys (Reading, Math, Locating Information, and Applied Technology) all at the appropriate level as well as the Bennett (mechanical aptitude), prior to the job posting close date. High School diploma or equivalent
Industrial Journeyman level and on-the-job experience in the industrial electrical/electronic/controls/controls fields
Must be proficient in the use of test instruments such as but not limited to; volt/ohm multi-meters, clamp-on amp meters, meggars, transducers, oscilloscopes and PLC and processor based program/diagnostic panels.
Experienced in the use of all hand tools specific to the electrical/electronic/controls trade
Proficient use of blue prints and maintenance manuals.
