- The Area Manager is a player/coach role focused on growing & maintaining our customer base, while coaching & mentoring the sales reps in the field of his/her assigned territory.
- Grows new accounts but primarily focused on maintaining existing accounts.
- Works with current customers and prospects to meet desired sales and service needs.
- Partner with Growth Team to create sales campaigns to sell new business.
- Trains/coaches reps in the assigned territory on their role responsibilities.
Participates in plant visits to gather samples, observe instruments, and obtain information and analyzes/interpret results and reports any corrective actions to the customer.
- Outlines, presents and sells the value of our products and services that can benefit our customer needs.
- Conducts required training of operating personnel to ensure their understanding of the parameters under which their equipment operates.
- Builds upon internal relationships and starts to develop strong relationships with customers.
- Ensures profitability of accounts within an assigned territory through proper pricing and contract management as well as service time.
- Partners with peers and management to enhance selling techniques and approaches.
- Effectively coordinates relationships and interfaces with Commercial Operations, Technical Marketing, Product management and other functions.
- Documentation of observations at plant visits updates and contributes final reports intended for an internal audience.
- Is able to effectively manage time and budget or expense parameters.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years sales experience in the water treatment field.
- B.S. Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical,) Biology, or Chemistry, OR Bachelor's Degree in any discipline plus 4 years experience in the water treatment field.
