John Deere Construction and Forestry is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide quality planning, control, and improvement support for current product production Tracked Feller Buncher and Log Loaders to assure product quality meets the customers' expectations. In this position, you will:
Participate in Quality Improvement Teams composed of design & manufacturing engineering, supply management, product evaluation, to investigate manufacturing, assembly, supplier, or product quality / warranty issues.
Lead and facilitate root cause analysis of issues and identification of permanent corrective actions.
Facilitate and manages quality planning through Quality in Design (QID), and approval through PPAP & DPAR.
Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and maintains control plans.
Facilitate and manage warehouse hold process.
Education
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technology, Science, or a Math/Statistics discipline highly preferred or 5+ years of relevant experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills with the ability to bring a group to a consensus.
Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Interpretation of drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of advanced data collection, statistical analysis techniques (e.g. pareto charts, histograms, pie and bar charts).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated work experience in a team environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge of standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Root Cause Analysis, Statistics, DMAIC and mistake proofing techniques.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Demonstrated project leadership skills.
