Xbox and Games for Windows Release Manager
PURPOSE: Own the end-to-end process of bringing games from Microsoft's publishing partners successfully through the internal certification process.
RESPOSIBILITIES: The Xbox and Windows Gaming team is looking for a highly motivated, demonstrated team player to be assigned to support one or more Account Managers and their publishing partners to ensure smooth and timely delivery of Xbox 360 and Games for Windows games from publishers through our internal certification processes.
In this role, you will act as the primary contact and intermediary between the Game Quality team and game publishers/developers. This requires an understanding of the high level technical details of each game submission and communicating the status of all aspects of the certification process to your assigned publishers/developers. These aspects include the scheduling of game appointments, maintenance of the submission schedule and details in the team database, providing frequent status updates to publishers/developers on their current submissions, the basic technical requirements for game submissions, and any other information required to ensure that games pass on their first try through certification. You will also need to be able to interpret and communicate the certification testing results. Your success metrics will include performing the scheduling and coordination of up to 30 submissions per month; the pass-fail ratio of our publishers' games on the first certification pass; and the customer satisfaction rating with the publishers' experience with the process itself.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Passion for the customer is very important and is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer and partner experience (CPE)
2) The ability to manage, track and communicate a multitude of details within multiple projects and relay status of these details to partners promptly
3) The ability to understand and communicate high level technical details related to video game development
4) Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
5) Able to negotiate or mediate disagreements competently, staying focused on the situation rather than emotions
6) The ability to work well under tight deadlines
7) Basic knowledge of the video game industry and scenarios that influence publisher product release decisions
8) Strong organizational, project management, time management and negotiation skills
9) Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality
10) Adept at working with other groups inside of an organization to identify and improve processes, and define requirements for current and future tools
11) An ability to deliver tough messages diplomatically (i.e. failing results in certification) and quickly drive toward solutions to problems
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: four-year college degree in business, computer science or related field, 3+ years related experience in supporting external customers or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of, experience in and passion for the game development process and industry is also desirable.
