The Entertainment and Devices Live Service Operations Team is looking for an experienced DBA with a background in supporting production OLTP or decision support applications. The qualified individual will be on a team responsible for supporting the best online gaming and entertainment platform in the world.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The core duty will involve providing expertise to the E&D Live Service feature teams in support of the design, development, and implementation of a world-class online service. The candidate should be able to provide accurate and timely resolutions to challenging technical problems while representing the team in a positive, professional manner. Candidates should be comfortable discussing complex technical scenarios and solutions with varying customer skill levels leading to a deep understanding of the issue, root cause, and resolution options.

Required Skills & Experience:
At least three years experience managing SQL Server 2000/2005 on a Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003 platform in a DBA role.
Extensive experience in maintaining production reporting or OLTP systems, including familiarity with the SQL Server Engine and its tools set. Knowledge of Analysis Services / OLAP and related Business Intelligence tools is a plus.
Experience with implementation and support of data migration scenarios from OLTP systems to other OLTP or decision support systems, including experience with DTS/SSIS.
Experience with implementation and support of database replication.
Practical knowledge of troubleshooting issues in SQL Server 2005 including, but not limited to: performance (blocking, query optimization), query failures (deadlocks, exceptions), distributed queries, logical and physical database design, security models.
Ability to multitask and reprioritize work in a changing business climate.
Excellent verbal and written communications. Good documentation skills.
Strong teamwork, coordination, cross-group collaboration skills.
Passion for the care and feeding of SQL Server and of databases.

Definite pluses:
Familiarity with and experience supporting OLTP SQL Server systems and applications, including those involving a high volume of transactions.
Experience with Webstore.
Experience designing databases and database systems
Experience with development of data migration scenarios, including understanding of pitfalls to avoid.
Knowledge of capacity planning methodologies; experience providing SQL Server capacity planning data and recommendations.
Experience with log shipping and database mirroring.
MCDBA certification in SQL Server 2005.
