The Mobile Communication Business (MCB) division is looking for strong software engineer who is excited about building experiences for the mobile lifestyle. Design is a core part of the Mobile Communications Experience team (MCX) - a collaborative group of individuals representing ethnography, visual design, user research, interaction design - engineering - all focused on defining, designing and delivering great user experiences for Windows Mobile Standard smartphones, Windows Mobile Professional PDAs, and other rich mobile communication devices.
We are looking for a Developer with experience shipping products and an understanding of the realities in doing so. Must love to hack, mash up, build prototypes and produce specifications for medium to large systems. Strong communication skills and an ability to work with all disciplines will be central. You will play a key role in technical communication, coordination and alignment up and down the organizational, across the product line teams and externally. It is expected that you will be an advocate and driver for innovation across the entire system. Finally, we want someone with a driving passion about building products for our customers within the mobile space.
This position will report into the Advanced Development Group for the Windows Mobile Device Platform Group.
Qualifications for this position include:
Love of mobile technology
Strong code writing skills
Five years of development experience working on all phases of a development cycle
Five years of experience working on a diverse set of technological issues at a strategic level
Creative and innovative thinking
Technological experience in mobile and embedded development
Insight and intuitive thinking to recognize, address proactively and solve hard problems that span technology, development models, testing, and other areas
World-class architectural and design skills with a reputation for being a thought leader in the market
Demonstrated experience leading by influencing and working effectively cross-group; this is a very broad senior role
Interpersonal savvy, negotiation and problem solving skills to work through issues/conflicts diplomatically
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communication with executives as well as with developers
Experience in User Interface Design is a plus
MS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
