The EED Continuing Education Manager will report to the Engineering Learning Leader for GE Energy and will have strategic planning and management responsibilities for technical training and career development programs serving engineers across GE Energy.

This individual will:

* Grow the Continuing Education/Professional Development organization to meet the needs of GE Energy which is expected to double in revenue by 2010.

* Work with Energy Engineering Managers to assess and meet the training and development needs of engineers on the technical career path.

* Work with the Program Managers of the Edison and other development programs within GE Infrastructure to identify and exploit synergy opportunities.

* Develop a multi-generational continuous learning plan that ensures course content, instructors, delivery technologies, and verification methods will meet the future needs of Energy Engineering.

* Provide leadership to global staff in the Americas, Europe and Asia for engineering education processes.

* Promote culture of continuous, accountable learning.

* Create a training course database and promote its use by engineering groups.

* Interface with Tools COE to drive excellent training for critical engineering tools.

* Work to connect user groups to training resources.
Qualifications

* BS degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences Discipline.

* Minimum 8 years engineering experience.

* Minimum 3 years organizational or program leadership experience.

* Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (DMAIC or DFSS) (GE employees only).

Desired

* Proven leadership, project management, and communication skills.

* Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with Global teams.

* Demonstrated passion for teaching, mentoring and enabling individuals to excel in technical pursuits.

* Understanding of internal Energy Engineering operating processes and organizational roles and responsibilities.

* Full time quality role experience.

* Strong interpersonal, team-building and communication skills.
