Position Description
Perform visual and functional checks on tools and accessories and correct settings and make adjustments as necessary. Investigate and troubleshoot power tool operation problems to determine cause of malfunctions and make recommendations to improve operations. Correct and repair equipment to insure continuous and accurate operations. Issue, setup, adjust, and calibrate a variety of tools that require knowledge of tolerances, angles, etc. Facilitate, coordinate and review the work of a designated group of employees. Maintain constant review of workload, assign and apportion work, and plan sequence of work of lower graded employees performing all tasks involved in ordering, receiving, recording, storing, checking, issuing, shipping and releasing of tools, shop supplies, materials, machine accessories, special tools, tooling and support equipment.
Competencies
Perform other duties similar in kind and complexity. Inspect content of and clear tool boxes, issue hold out notices as required. Give direction and/or kit, relabel, repackage and/or machine and/or hand mix sealant, paints, adhesives, lubricants and solvents as required. Operate typical shop equipment to provide movement of all materials. Dress tool grinder wheels, cut off drills and reamers, etc., as required. Arrange for the loan of tools and equipment. Prepare a request for User Call orders. Send power tools to the tool repair area for required maintenance and repair of internal drive and feed mechanisms. Operate any and all types of information systems required to perform assigned task. Familiarize other employees with functions, methods, procedures, etc., by passing on information and answering questions.
Education and/or Experience
GED or High School Diploma required
