Job Title Director/ Manager of Portfolio Management

As a member of the Portfolio Management Team, this position will help drive profitable growth in the Global Pharmaceutical business. Principal responsibilities of this position include:
Identification, commercial justification, and prioritization of new product opportunities for R&D, ensuring that plans are consistent with the corporation's risk objectives and meet the growth targets of the business.
Provide ongoing portfolio management support to the Acute Care, Specialty Oncology, and Biologics Venture Teams. Resolve allocation issues of limited R&D resources across multiple competing priorities to ensure the best result.
Drive new product ideas through the funding process, including development of initial project strategies. At the completion of early stage development, the project must be successfully transferred to the appropriate Venture Team in anticipation of senior management review.
Compile global P&Ls for pipeline product opportunities using broader Global Pharmaceuticals Business Unit input to create Long Range Plans for both cost and ROI. Help develop the global development strategy, including driving step-out opportunities.
Play a significant role in ensuring that portfolio management systems are world class.
Location: Lake Forest, IL
Skills/Experience Education/Certification Bachelors Degree required, MBA preferred. Good communication, interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills required. Candidate should have prior experience in marketing, business development, program management, finance, market research, and/or intellectual property. Clinical knowledge is a plus. Previous pharmaceutical portfolio management experience is desired.
