McGraw-Hill Higher Education has an outstanding opportunity for a Technical Project Manager based out of our New York office.
In this role in the Digital Division of McGraw-Hill Higher Education you will be responsible for being management’s proxy in guiding projects from inception through functional requirements on time, on budget and of quality.
Essential Accountabilities:
Coordinate assigned projects using project planning methodology and software. Identify required resources and work with team to perform project estimation, identify risks and manage risk mitigation plan, develop schedules to meet deadlines and ensure timely completion of projects.
Work with business team to define functional requirements and specification and translate them into functional specifications.
Provide absolute clarity to all project stakeholders regarding project progress and risks by written updates (usually weekly) regarding the project’s status.
Coordinate resource allocation with other projects and Project Managers. Work with senior management to ensure adequate resources are put in place for the project duration.
Obtain sign-off from the business team and client throughout the development cycle to ensure the solution meets their acceptance requirements.
Formally closes down projects including team member feedback, lessons learned and archival of required project artifacts.
2-5 years Project Management experience in software company
Successful track record of delivering small and medium sized software projects on schedule, within budget , of quality and meeting customer expectations
Extensive experience with MS Project Server (Project Central) is required
Must have experience in business/systems analysis and requirements documentation.
Strong client management skills
Good presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Education: Bachelors Degree, Masters a major plus
Formal project management training
Must have experience in business/systems analysis and requirements documentation
