We currently have an outstanding opportunity for aProject Manager, III for our publishing team that can be located REMOTELY or in eitherNew York, Burr Ridge, IL, Nashville, TN or Monterey, CA.
The Project Manager, III is responsible for the delivery of the Publishing component of projects that meet identified criteria for scope, cost, time, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Publishing Project Manager III leads multiple projects and actively coaches team members in meeting all project responsibilities including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing the project, with emphasis on using established project management best practices. The Project Manager contributes to building and enhancing the professional project management capabilities of the Publishing Project Management Office, including training and mentoring project managers.
Work collaboratively with our external customers and the Program Manager to meet their publishing needs. Facilitate the development and maintenance of test designs and publishing plans, working with appropriate publishing managers and/or content leads. Assist in proposal development and costing activities for new business opportunities.
Coordinate and manage Publishing subcontractors. Implement formal change management processes as project requirements change. Ensure each project is executed according to documented publishing and cross-functional processes and appropriately staffed, escalating staffing issues to publishing management as appropriate.
Collect, analyze, and report project schedule, resource, financial, and performance metrics data for departmental operational reporting, examining and reporting trends and variation in schedule, cost, quality, and delivery. Contribute to departmental resource capacity planning, ensuring effective and efficient deployment of resources across multiple projects.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in English, Math, Science, Education or other related field.
Additional Required Experience :
Must have a minimun of 7 years experience in thedevelopment and delivery of summative or formative educational assessments with increasing responsibilities working on complex projects, involving multiple stakeholdersincluding a minimum of 3 years experience working in a project manager capacity initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing projects.
Experience in creating, implementing, and monitoring project management plans, including subsidiary plans for scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, resources, communication, and procurement.
Experience working with external and internal customers with the ability to foster positive long-term relationships.
Experience implementing risk response plans to resolve serious project performance problems.
Must be qualified to take the PMI exam to become PMP certified within 12 months of hire. CTB will offer a PMP test preparation class.
Experience in coaching high-performing teams, including distributed, virtual teams with the ability to lead across organizational boundaries and to inspire others to find creative solutions to challenging situations or problems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with exceptional ability to communicate in writing and verbally about publishing and project management issues.
Highly organized and self-directed experienced leading multiple projects and people simultaneously.
Proficiency with utilizing the internet and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
