-Provide technical leadership for the design of GE Combined-Cycle (CC) power plant systems.
-Research, develop and enhance Combined-Cycle technologies in the areas of performance, operability and cost optimization.
-For assigned CC projects, provide system engineering leadership and coordinate support to all the engineering and project management organizations involved (Customer, GE internal organizations, Consortium Partners, Architect Engineering, etc).
-Ensure that power plant operational guarantees are met (i.e. output, efficiency, emissions, acoustics and plant startup times).
-Define project scope content, prepare equipment & system configurations, define and issue functional requirements for plant equipment and prepare overall plant controls philosophy.
-Participate in all facets of assigned CC project such as: bid support, requisition support, operational requirements, vendor equipment evaluations, plant test philosophy development (for guarantee verifications), commissioning and operational problem resolutions and warranty support.
-Significant engagement in groups Six Sigma, Trip Reduction and Competitiveness initiatives will be expected.
-Provide technical consultation to various GE, marketing and international organizations on combined cycle power plants.
-Support CC power plant projects globally.
-This position requires global travel (5-20% of year) for customer, partner and engineering meetings as well as field troubleshooting.

Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Thermal Engineering.
-Minimum of 5 years applicable power plant system engineering experience, or equivalent engineering industry.
-Minimum of 1 year design experience.
-Minimum of 1 year design experience in one or more of the following disciplines; gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines or controls.
-Green Belt Certified (GE employees only).

Desired

-Combined Cycle / Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle ( IGCC )Experience.

-GE Six Sigma Program Certified black belt & DFSS training (GE Employees Only).
-Experienced in Reliability & Availability analysis of systems.
-Thermodynamic analysis skills.
-Familiar with power plant control and operation.
