Has the experience or expertise to lead the functional area. Able to develop and execute objectives for self and others. The role includes:
*Leading team responsible for payroll and benefits accounting for Energy/O&G US payrolls.
*Maintaining accurate payroll & benefits and related account balances.
*Recommending and record necessary related accounting adjustments.
*Becoming Knowledge Expert on pay and benefits practices.
*Acting as key liaison (to Corporate, affiliates, and within business) on payroll matters.
*Leading process improvement initiatives to streamline & enhance activities.
*Ensuring compliance for all activities.
Description of specific responsibilities includes:
1. Manage team that performs:
*Error correction to ensure proper accounting per requirements.
*Account reconciliations.
*Invoice adjustments due to special pay, FICA and pay corrections as appropriate.
*Benefits allocations & reporting.
*Incentive compensation & reporting.
*Deferred OT accrual, Vacation accrual & reporting.
*Ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
*SOX audit support.
*Assigned quarterly data requests (Corporate DRs).
2. Provide Business Development (acquisitions/dispositions) & Re-organization support.
3. Proactively improve related processes and systems.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
* At least 5 additional years of experience in an accounting position.
* Solid computer skills including knowledge of relevant GE financial systems (Payroll Distribution System, PeopleSoft, Vista, OHR, Oracle GL, Brio, OFA, ADI, IBS, ART, Business Objects).
