The objectives of theHosting Systems Administrator are to manage, monitor and maintain assigned systems to ensure availability and performance complies with Blackbaud’s expectations.
Major Responsibilities and Critical Tasks
· Engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance and 24x7 support for hardware, operating systems and applications associated with the Microsoft/SQL/Citrix/VMware/web hosted applications environment.
· Take on primary responsibility for hosting of Blackbaud product line or IT function with department.
· Become Subject Matter Expert on assigned Blackbaud software products to be hosted to external clients.
· Customer relationship management; ability to understand a customers business and how application hosting contributes to the delivery of that product or service.
· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both verbally and in writing.
· Superior requirements development and management skills.
· Build servers and infrastructure components as required.
· Maintain documentation on physical and logical layout and assets of the Microsoft/SQL/Citrix/VMware/web architectures, and train co-workers and support staff as needed to maximize availability and reliability.
· Work closely with Product Development and Product Support, as well as provide detailed status reports on assigned projects and ongoing support for assigned systems and applications.
Required Experience:
· 4+ years of experience in a support role managing a Microsoft Windows server network consisting of the following:
· Windows 2000, 2003, and Terminal Server
· Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 clusters
· Internet Information Server 6.0
· Active Directory
· VMware ESX
· 2+ years of experience managing a Citrix application farm consisting of the following:
· Citrix Presentation Server 4.0/4.5, Metaframe XPe, Metaframe
· Citrix Secure Gateway or application Gateway
· Citrix NFuse, Resource Manager, Installation Manager
· Certifications desired: MCSE, MCDBA, CCA, CCEA
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Computer Science desired)
Preferred Experience:
· Experience in implementing or supporting Blackbaud Products
