IT Support Lead is resposible for corporate IT related support,. You will serve as lead for all of core support, telecom support, and any other corporate development initiatives. Other responsibilities include installing, imaging, configuring, upgrading and repairing desktop/laptop computers running Microsoft Windows XP Professional & Windows 2000 Professional operating systems. Providing PC/LAN help desk support, and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problems, interface with customers, and Information Technology personnel in a corporate environment to help minimize down time and outages. Individual must be able to work independently and as a team member on projects facing many challenges. Individual will need to be self-motivated and be able to prioritize work volume with little supervision. Individual will also be responsible for troubleshooting network and cabling issues, networked peripheral devices, and provide assistance to remote employees. Keep management well informed of departmental activities.
Skills Required :
-Proficiency in Microsoft office products, Windows 2000/XP, VPN, and networking technologies.
-Thorough understanding of Microsoft networking technologies, TCP/IP, DNS, RDP, etc…
-Thorough understanding of Ethernet based TCP/IP networking technologies and cabling.
-Thorough experience in PC hardware-software troubleshooting and repair via telephone, desk-side support, and vendor liaisons.
-Thorough understanding of wireless technologies and providing assistance to traveling and remote employees.
-Ability to upgrade desktop and laptop computers with RAM, hard drives, network interface cards, etc…
-Ability to diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Able to work independently and as a team member.
-Good verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
The drive and ability to see problems through to completion.
Required Experience:
Experience required :
-2+ years experience at Level 2 PC/LAN Support in an Ethernet based TCP/IP Network environment.
-Work with other technical personnel for collaborative problem solving.
-Good people skills, good communicator, excellent phone communication skills.
-3+ years experience in help desk support and problem resolution within a large enterprise organization.
-Significant experience installing, configuring, upgrading and repairing Windows XP Professional, Microsoft office Products, and desktop and laptop computers.
-Experience working with an incident management system such as Altiris, LAN Desk, Magic, or Peregrine is a plus.
-Experience in making decisions concerning incident escalation and engaging external resources.
-1 year or more of server setup and maintenance including Windows Server 2003 and Exchange.
Education and Certification :
4-yr Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field preferred.
A+ Certification or the ability to obtain this certification within the first 90 days of employment.
Network+ Certification or the ability to obtain this certification within the first 180 days of employment.
