Responsibilities :
Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and accountability to assure the safe production of quality products as efficiently as possible while managing positive employee relations for Production, Shipping and Quality departments. They are responsible for making on-shift decisions with basic knowledge of how the decisions will impact financial, quality and safety metrics. They are responsible for understanding and adhering to guidelines and complying with regulatory requirements, company / plant policies, procedures, and rules in his / her area of responsibility.
The Production Supervisor must be able to independently perform most assignments. Detailed planning and communications, data entry and counseling skills are essential. The Supervisor must have previous documented leadership experience.
With minimal direction and input from production management, they will work together with other supervisors to schedule personnel, schedule production lines, plan and execute projects to eliminate the root cause of manufacturing problems.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the area of responsibility (Shift) delivers upon plant goals, daily and weekly reviewing those results with Production Management staff.
* Drive Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities within the department or shift.
* Ensure that personnel have proper qualifications, are properly trained and motivated to work productively both as a part of the team and individually. Plan hourly training efforts to ensure that all employees understand their expectations.
* Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures involving safety, quality, sanitation, good manufacturing policies, lean manufacturing and other plant programs. Passionately identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with all administrative and reporting procedures
* Prepare short term (daily and weekly) and long-term (monthly) staffing schedules to assure adequate staffing according to standards are maintained within budget. Document exceptions and pursue approval if cost is justified.
* Support opportunities for continuous improvement
* Document all production and efficiency and material data in accounting software system.
* Be proficient in all Accounting inputs, Quality Assurance documentation, and Time and Attendance information.
* Communicate, interact and follow up with shift salaried and hourly staffing to build and maintain positive employee relations.
* Deliver communications for shift meetings and training events. Effectively and timely communicate appropriate information daily, weekly and monthly to all direct reports and peers by utilizing informal and formal communications - one on ones, huddles, meetings, postings, shift notes, etc.

High school diploma or GED is required. A degree in business or a technology-related field is preferred.
Experience:
* 4 years in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
* Strong leadership and communication skills are critical.
