Job Title Associate Research Scientist, Cell & Molecular Biology
External Job Description The Associate Research Scientist is responsible for molecular biology and biochemistry support of new product concept testing. He/she will plan experiments, develop molecular and biochemical methods, and participate in planning and execution of Definition Phase programs. Additionally, the Associate Research Scientist will:
~ Handle complex and difficult molecular biology / bioanalytical characterization and method development independently with a high level of technical skill.
~ Understand theoretical and technical aspects of entire projects.
~ Perform more complex experimentation within area of expertise in an independent fashion with capability to determine relevancy and accuracy of the data.
~ Provide thorough review of patent and literature in support of diligence efforts for biogenerics, and will be a key player in obtaining or constructing appropriate cell lines.
~ Represent R&D as a core team member on programs with strong biotechnical emphasis, and may guide others in conducting project specific laboratory activities.
Skills/Experience Education/Certification A Ph.D. degree with at least 3 years experience, M.S. degree with at least 6 years experience, or B.S. degree with at least 10 years experience is required.
Experience should include previous development programs involving biotechnology-derived products, successful regulatory submissions, and established expertise in the development of moderately complex chemical and biochemical methods.
Formal training in Molecular and/or Cell Biology or related biology field and on the job experience is required. Direct experience in molecular biology (gene cloning, expression, sequencing) and protein expression and characterization) essential for success in the position.
