Job Purpose
The Professional in this role will lead development and implementation of new designs and design improvements for assigned scope of electrical system and components within the 1.5MW and 2.5MW wind turbines.
Essential Functions
Coordinate design efforts and deliverables (concepts, specifications, drawings, design layouts, BOM, and documentation), based on Product Specification and customer CTQs.
Work closely with other engineering groups within GE to coordinate interfaces between systems and components.
Work with product support teams to determine root cause of component or system failures and implement corrective actions to meet product reliability goals for customers.
Communicate with external consultants and third parties to achieve certification of designs (Germanischer Lloyd, DNV, TUEV, UL, CSA, etc.).
Leverage and implement Design Practices, DFR and DFSS.
Provide technical clarification of designs with suppliers, manufacturing and service during prototype phase.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years engineering experience.
Knowledge of electrical distribution, power conversion or control system design.

Desired
Familiarity with UL, CSA and European codes and standards.
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge of wind turbine technologies.
Six-Sigma Green Belt Certified (GE employees only).
