* Execute Engineering design work on wind turbine composite materials and structures like nacelle and spinner.
* Responsible for the connection between composite structures and other structural components like the bedplate and hub.
* Ownership of the design of spinner and nacelle from prototyping, through introduction into manufacturing and maintenance in the installed fleet.
* Definition and control of the complete technical documentation of composite structures and subassemblies and Engineering input for the Bill of Material (BoM).
* Definition and evaluation of manufacturing handling procedures for composite materials and structures installed on the manufacturing floor.
* Work with global and cross-functional teams to leverage "Best Practices" for material and component testing, validation and improvement procedures.
* Preparation of Design & Analysis documentation, e.g. Specifications, Design Practices, Bills of Material (BoM), Work Desk Instructions (WDI) and manufacturing manuals for composite materials and structures.
* Ensure compliance of composite components design to international standards and codes like ISO, CE, DIN, NEC etc.
* Support Sourcing organization for new supplier qualification and supplier audits e.g. by conducting first piece qualifications.
* Work closely with local and global Design Liaison Engineers in manufacturing.
* Support on site root cause analysis on all technical issues related to composite materials, components and structures.
* Work closely with the Technical Leader and global team members to ensure high quality and on-time delivery for all engineering assignments.
Qualifications
* BS degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Material Engineering.
* Minimum 1 year experience in engineering and manufacturing procedures for composite materials.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Willingness for some travel.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Desired
* Knowledge of 3D-CAD tools like UG.
* Familiar with the usage of engineering software ANSYS.
* Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries. * Six Sigma DFSS Green Belt Certification (GE Employees only).
* Proven ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions.
* Wind technology experience.
* GE Business tools, process and practices expertise.
* Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries.
* Self-motivated.
* Good knowledge of steel design of bolted joints, steel frames and welded joint design.
* Experience using code regulations for structures design, and structural strength calculations.
* Good knowledge of composite materials, components, applications and practices.
