This Associate Manager assists the Regional Editorial Manager in day-to-day operations, which include, recruiting and hiring new associates, insuring that supervisor and team leaders prioritize their coaching and talent development responsibilities, as well as financial monitoring and management. This individual assists in monitoring daily activity and attendance to proactively insure that performance is properly managed. This position will also serve as REOC representative to Regional and National sales associates to insure that the output of Dodge News exceeds customer requirements.



Provides day-to-day supervision of a population of the Regional Operations Center (REOC) staff, which includes Construction News Representatives, Bid News Coordinators, News Technicians and Data Entry Operators. Responsibilities include scheduling and distribution of departmental activities to insure that daily deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of quality, quantity, and accuracy for all Dodge products. Manages the overflow to the field and plan rooms. Responsible for goal setting, scorecard administration, performance reviews, and making recommendations on merit reviews. Conducts daily service reviews/quality checks and is an expert on reporter policies and procedures.



Manages new hire process by coordinating job postings with Human Resources, reviewing potential candidates with Regional Manager, conducting initial interviews, coordinating with Regional Manager on final candidate selection. Ensures that initial training and on the job training plans are well implemented.



Develop talent, throughout the REOC through individual coaching, innovative training opportunities, and performance tracking to identify and initiate performance management when necessary. Conducts coaching/counseling/training sessions with REOC staff to improve key areas of performance. Identifies new and creative ways to motivate direct reports and improve engagement.



Reviews and process all check requests for plans and specs and ensures that every option has been exhausted to get plans for free, prior to approval. Follows up on all potential plan and spec denials to overcome objectives and improve capture rate.

 

Produces monthly operations report. Other responsibilities include maintaining vacation schedules and lost time logs, filing timesheets for payroll, ordering supplies ensuring the operation and maintenance of all office equipment.



Assists in the budgeting process by monitoring monthly operating statements and annual budgets.



Assists regional manager in proactively building sales confidence by researching and resolving customer issues and regularly planned interactions between REOC individuals, sales associates, and customers.



Industry Association participation (AIA, AGC, SMPS, etc.). Industry involvement at local trade shows/industry events (Regional participation as needed)



Establish exclusive relationships with key sources within the region. Strategically plans to identify and cultivate new sources of information to improve region’s news package



Prepares presentation for Regional Operations Review.



KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:



Requires construction industry, customer service, or call center knowledge.



Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and instructional skills required.



Three-five years of demonstrated successful experience in management.



Dodge customer service, sales or editorial experience helpful.



Strong presentation skills and understanding of KDSS.



Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, DodgeNet, the Network and Dodge Plans



Possess the ability to identify and solve workflow problems in a “production” environment to assure productivity sufficient to satisfy customer needs every day. Anticipating problems caused by turnover or absence and prioritizing for self and work tem to meet daily deadlines is crucial.



Provides clear instruction and follow through to ensure compliance is a daily challenge.



Managing multiple priorities is critical.
