The Worldwide Retail Marketing team is conducting a search for a seasoned Visual Merchandising Manager to help drive creative execution and production on permanent, semi-permanent, and promotional in-store merchandising for various retail accounts.
The retail channel is vital to Microsoft's growth not only for the direct revenue it generates, but also due to the retail channel's unique ability to help build brand equity and engagement due to its outreach to consumer and small business customers worldwide. Microsoft has a long history of working with partners to reach end customers and this certainly applies to our retail go-to-market approach. Microsoft has developed tremendous relationships with retailers and distributors worldwide making our retail success possible.
The Visual Merchandising Manager will work in close partnership with the World Wide Retail Creative Services Team and the local sales and marketing teams on details and logistics for all displays. He/she will leverage the use of creative work produced in the World Wide headquarters and partner with the local sales team to manage the order, assembly and distribution process into the retail channel, maintain creative standards and design construction integrity. He/she will establish and maintain an approval process for P.O.P. items, manage creative and production budgets for each project; manage the master timelines of merchandising activities and effectively communicate both internally and externally; and develop necessary partnerships with Sales, Legal, and Operations. He/she will need to communicate directly with the product groups on tactical issues of agreed plans and ensure deliverables are agreed on by all affected and executed to a flawless level.
The qualified candidate will have strong project management skills, ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and concisely both verbally and in written form, a high degree of creativity in design and implementation, strong attention to detail, excellent organization and ability to effectively manage multiple projects, ability to effectively influence others in multiple groups and collaborate to achieve specific objectives, ability to work independently and take action to achieve position goals and objectives, must be self-motivated and have the skills and ability to manage long-term projects with little direction, have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast pace environment, a BA or equivalent degree, and four plus years of direct and relevant experience in the retail channel (e.g., agency/vendor experience is a plus), prior product/channel marketing or store planning experience required.
